Two cases of buggery against minors have been reported in St. Ann in a matter of days; on Sunday the police say they received reports that a five-year-old was buggered by a man in his community. This follows news of another sexual assault of a St Ann teen.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kevin Francis is the head of operations in the St. Ann police division. He says a man has been taken into custody in relation to the incident; charges are yet to be laid against the man.
The St. Ann police are also continuing their investigation in the case of a thirteen-year-old girl who was reported buggered by five men in her community.
All five men are in police custody. The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) has since launched an investigation into both incidents.
Deputy supt. Francis says counseling is being offered to the teen’s family and the family of the alleged perpetrators.
Meanwhile, several persons are condemning the reports of sexual assault against minors.
