The body of 57-year-old Melford Brown, who has been reported missing from Monday, has been found near his home in St. Thomas. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
Mr Brown, an armed security guard, was found in bushes just metres away from his home in Louden Hill, St. Thomas Wednesday. A search team from the Yallahs Police was deployed to the area where he was found laying face down with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and his empty wallet. Residents believe he was robbed.
One of Brown’s relatives spoke with our news team. She says though the community is in grief, she has thankful for the efforts of the police. She is calling on parents who are aware of their children’s involvement in criminality, to do the right thing. Brown was also described as a law-abiding citizen. There are calls for political representatives to intervene in the matter. Watch the full report:
