After completing phases one and two of an unprecedented exploration of the island, founder of Geophysx Jamaica Limited and Principal of the project Robert Stewart now sees positive indications to launch phase three. Stakeholders anticipate the findings to impact the nation’s economy significantly.
An optimistic Stewart says after exploring blindly for some time, he now knows what he’s looking for and where to search.
Mining Minister Robert Montague says he’s hopeful that findings from this phase will lead to great things for Jamaica. The project which started in 2018 is in search of gold, copper and rare earth minerals for commercial purposes. Over one billion dollars have been invested in the first two phases of the project.
Meanwhile, Montague says the mining company has donated new equipment to help in detecting valuable minerals. This the stakeholders say has to potential to revolutionize Jamaica, yield a range of benefits to societies, including industrial and economic developments.
