It is now one week since the Office of Children’s Advocate OCA released its 93-page report, on an investigation done, which revealed the alleged molestation of girls in state care. On Tuesday, scores of citizens gathered at the Child Protection and Family Services (CPFSA) head office at Duke Street, Downtown Kingston, demanding the resignation of Child Protection and Family Services Agency, boss Rosalee Gage Grey.
In an interview with Cvm Live Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison, says duty of care was breached. The report also confirmed Carl Robankse, was given access to vulnerable girls, some minors, even after Grey learnt of his antecedents in the states. Among the protestors was a former ward of the state, who alleges she was abused from the tender age of eight and was allegedly neglected by the state.
Betty Ann Blaine, Convenor of Hear the Children’s Cry, says the case is troubling and if the damning allegations are true, she expects Rosa Lee Gage Grey to resign. She has raised several concerns. She says she is hoping the entities involved will be transparent on the matter. Grey remains head of the CPFSA, despite repeated calls for her resignation.
