In addition to the recent increase in robberies in St. Elizabeth, there has been a wave of serious crimes in the parish. This morning, the body of a man believed to be a violence producer was found with a gunshot to the face.
Reports are that residents discovered the man’s body in an open lot near his common-law wife’s house. This killing is the newest of several crimes that have occurred in the parish. In fact, Councillor for the Myersville Division Layton Smith says he is concerned for the safety of residents within the once peaceful parish.
The Councillor is calling for better crime reduction strategies and highlights enough is not being done to control crime within the parish. He is calling for an intervention from the authorities to quell the increasing crime numbers.
Meanwhile, Smith notes St. Elizabeth is a prime spot for criminals to migrate and is therefore urging for more police vigilance to restore peace in the parish.
