Buff Bay, Portland Gets Health and Security Upgrade

2022 is nothing short of promising for the people of Buff Bay, Portland with a new 40-man cell police station and health centre; together at a cost of more than a quarter-billion Jamaican dollars. Member of Parliament for Portland Western, Daryl Vaz asserts that the developments bear proof of the Government’s commitment to driving the economy even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new Buff Bay police station being constructed at a cost of over $125 million includes living quarters and a 40-man-cell facility. While expressing some disappointment with a delay in its completion, the MP Daryl Vaz says he is very impressed with the work done so far.

The MP says the official handing over for the police station will be on December 16, adding that it will undoubtedly be a merry Christmas for the people of Buff Bay. Right beside the new police station is the $200- million Buff Bay District Health Centre which Vaz says is expecting to be handed over within the next two months.

A game-changer is how he labels the upgraded facility. Vaz adds that he remains committed to resolving maternity issues faced by many residents. Meanwhile, public wifi is on its way for buff way. The Portland Western Member of Parliament says 2022 will be made even better for the people of Buff Bay who are set to receive free internet access.
