Bunting speaks out: Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate, Peter Bunting appeared on CVM Live’s Panel Discussion on Tuesday. He spoke through his appointment in the upper house and the myriad of issues unfolding in the People’s National Party.
He says in many ways he was a mere spectator to the controversy surrounding his recent senate appointment.
The People’s National Party has been the topic of much conversation in recent weeks.
From the massive defeat in the September 3 General Election, to the party’s presidential run off in November, leaked conversations among members and issues surrounding Peter Bunting’s Senatorial appointment.
Bunting adds that he is fully responsible for losing his Manchester Central seat. However, he says it was bolstered by a national swing.
He says many of the party’s shortcomings identified in previous evaluation reports were not corrected.
Suggestions have been made that Mark Golding is merely seeking to pave the way for Bunting, as leader but Bunting dispels this.
He says his role now is to support the leader of the party.
