The bus driver seen in a video being beaten by two policemen is dismissing claims that he too was assaulting the lawmen.
He told CVM LIVE he would never squander his rights and is calling for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, (JCF) to do more to weed out bad cops. The bus driver who has spent over twenty years in the sector says he’s never experienced anything like Monday’s incident.
He says the policeman demanded that he take his bus to the station. However, he says the law enforcer refused to tell him the reason for that order. Consequently, he refused to follow the instruction, but this only served to further escalate the situation.
In addition to the bus driver’s bruises and swollen limbs, he was slapped with three charges: resisting arrest, careless driving, and assaulting the police. More details in the report:
