Businessman Shot in Ocho Rios- Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of a businessman in St. Ann, who was gunned down by unknown assailants Saturday night.
A pall of gloom has descended over Buck Field, Ocho Rios St. Ann, following the brutal slaying of the businessman Orville Grant otherwise called Bash.
Around 10:30 pm Saturday businessman Grant stopped by a friend in the area. It is reported that while the two were having a conversation, three armed men approached the duo opening fire at Grant, who sustained several gunshot wounds all over his body, he was rushed to the St. Ann’s Bay hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Reports are that the gunmen took Grant’s licensed firearm, however, Police say one homemade firearm was recovered from the scene along with eight 9mm casings and a live 9mm round.
Grant was said to be the owner of the Whalers Seafood Restaurant at the fishing village in Ocho Rios. He was also President of the Benevolent Society. Many say often times he would push aside the running of his own business to pacify the conflict that sometimes occurs between the tradesmen and often encourages those who worked with him.
Police say they are following several leads and hope to bring the perpetrators to justice.
