Jamaica’s tourism product is bracing for another major blow. This after several Canadian airlines have opted out of flights to the Caribbean and Mexico starting January 31.
The suspension of flights from Jamaica’s second largest tourism market, is expected to continue through to April 30.
A communications strategist in the tourism ministry, Delano Seiveright says the local tourism product is expected to take a further battering before the sector starts rebounding. He says already the move is putting pressure on private testing facilities that have invested millions in ensuring PCR tests for Canadians was made possible in recent weeks.
