Car Crashes in Unfinished Drain in St. Thomas

In a harrowing incident on Thursday morning, a taxi driver narrowly escaped a fatal accident when his vehicle veered off the road and plunged into an unfinished drain in the Duhaney Pen area of St. Thomas. The Toyota Probox, en route from Morant Bay to Rouselle, reportedly crashed around 8:30 am, with speeding identified as the alleged cause.

The driver, miraculously, remains in stable condition despite the severity of the crash. Eyewitnesses recall the startling moment when the vehicle unexpectedly careened by. One resident, who observed the incident up close, expressed the urgency with which he retreated from the scene upon realizing the unfolding danger.Despite the ongoing construction in the area, speculation points to speeding as the primary factor contributing to the accident. Superintendent Allison Byfield, the commanding officer for the parish, is urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
