C. A. S. E. Alumni Want Better Campus Security

Members of the College of Agriculture, Science and Education Alumni Association are calling on CASE’s Board of Management to sack its President. In the wake of the latest incident of sexual assault of a female student on the campus, the perpetrator was not a student of the school but gained access to the campus through dormant train tunnels.

Reports indicate this is third time a student has been raped under his leadership. The sexual assault of a female student on the CASE Campus has garnered the concern of the school’s alumni association. They say there has been gross mismanagement of security on the approximately 300 acre campus. Webster McPherson, immediate past president of the CASE AA say students are complaining that not enough is being done to ensure their safety.

They say this is the third student in less than a year to have been raped, assaulted and abducted at the college. In a recent media briefing, CASE President Derrick Deslandes assured that the college increased security after the latest incident. CASE AA’s Public Relations Officer Patrick Maitland questions the reactive nature of the school’s board. McPherson is renewing their call for new leadership.

The campus was thrown into chaos recently, following the sexual assault of a student. Police say investigations are ongoing.
