The Crown Prosecutor says there are still files outstanding in the killing of 20-year-old Khanice Jackson, warranting the court date be pushed back to late November. 50-year-old mechanic Robert Fowler, the murder accused, appeared before the court on Thursday, July 9. He is said to be unwell and in need of medical care.
Robert Fowler appeared before the courts from a remote location handcuffed and clad in a white t-shirt, black slacks, and his face properly masked.
His voice, though sounding very firm and assertive was not a reflection of his current medical condition as his Attorney says he needs urgent medical attention.
Case File
Many files were already gathered such as the statement from the doctor who examined Fowler after the incident as well as the post mortem examination report among further statements from various parties. However, the phone data are still not ascertained, key evidence the case heavily relies on. Also, another forensic certificate is outstanding. Though the crown prosecutor says the files will be whole within the next 6 weeks, the Judge has set the next court hearing to the 25th of November.
Approval to receive medical attention
Additionally, the judge gave Fowler the approval to receive medical attention on July 13 and requested the medical journal where she will be privy to the actual health condition. He was taken into police custody after evidence connected him to the disappearance and subsequent death of Khanice Jackson.
The police said the suspect lured Jackson to his home under the guise that he left something for work at home.
It is further theorized that an argument developed between the two, at which point fowler used a rope and strangled her. He then dumped her lifeless body in the bushes on dyke road in Portmore.
