CASE Says COVID Has Not Disrupted Classes

The College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE), says classes have not been disrupted at the institution after one student tested positive for the virus and four others isolated after coming into close contact with the student, on Tuesday.

The institution says the students who have been isolated are awaiting their test results Ministry of Health.

Public Relations Coordinator, Monique Oates says since news of the infection, the decision to isolate the four students who have been isolated was due to contact tracing.

Oates explains that the student who tested positive has since gone home to complete isolation and recovery. She says the student began showing symptoms of COVID-19 while on the mandatory quarantine period after arriving on campus on September 9 for the academic school year.  All students were subject to a mandatory two week quarantine.

CASE is a residential Agricultural Tertiary Institution.

In the meantime, the institution says it is enforcing the COVID-19 guidelines, but the nature of the school process makes it a little challenging. Students have a practical farm course twice daily while the theory is taught online.
