Charges Dropped Against Rick’s Café Financial Controller

All charges were dropped against one of two people charged at Rick’s Cafe, following the hosting of Mocha Fest earlier this year.

Financial controller Conroy Barrett, one of the two employees of the Negril-based Rick’s Cafe Sports Bar was charged with failure to have a Spirit and Amusement License.

The matter was brought in the Savanna-La-Mar Parish Court on Monday.

The Manager of Rick’s Cafe, Thomas Martin was also charged with breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act, and is to return to court on September 10.

The Attorney representing the two, Queen’s Counsel Peter Champagnie says the authorities should divert their attention to other recent events that are in clear breach of the country’s COVID-19 safety protocols.
