A video circulating on social media of two children singing and dancing to a sexually explicit song has angered Children’s Advocate Betty-Ann Blaine, who is calling on the government to consider tightening restrictions on the production of raunchy music in Jamaica.
Blaine is also calling on members of the music industry to stamp out indecency, adding children are being fed a steady diet of slackness.
There is a renewed call to composers, producers, artistes, and entertainers to put a lid on the content they create going forward for the sake of children who are being exposed to sexually explicit content at a very early age.
Children’s Advocate Betty-Ann Blaine says the high level of indecency that exists cannot continue. She believes that Jamaica’s laws to protect children have no teeth and is requesting the prime minister’s attention.
Blaine is condemning a recent video circulating, of two under-aged girls mimicking a sexually explicit song and video featuring a Jamaican female artiste.
