The government is calling for a fix to the existing process used in the justice system to issue warrants, noting it is strenuous and time-consuming. To improve productivity in the courts the government has proposed amendments to the Electronic Transactions Act.
The Minister notes the components would include electronic signatures as a means of authenticating warrants. He further notes seventy percent of the annual caseload in the parish courts involves traffic matters in courts. Minister Chuck says during this quarter several tickets were issued causing a significant burden for human resources. Watch the report for more details:
