Stakeholders in the Education Ministry came together on Thursday for the official launch of the Civic Curriculum to be implemented in schools. By adding it to the existing curriculum, students will come to comprehend the pride, dignity, and seriousness of being Jamaican.
The guidelines provided and used by teachers are intended to strengthen the foundation for a successful and balanced society. President of the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary schools Linvern Wright notes the imperative is especially timely.
Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer in the Education Ministry Dr. Kasan Troupe highlighted the fact that it is incumbent on the leaders in schools to themselves uphold the standards of the curriculum. Dr. Troupe noted that what was once a traditional part of previous generations’ education, now has a new digital form.
