A tragic way to start the new year for a family of five who are now homeless following a fire in Longwood District Race Course, Clarendon. The house reportedly caught fire minutes after 9pm on New Year’s Eve.
Everything, that’s what Mr. Burke and his family has lost going into the New Year. The emotionally overwhelmed victim explains that he and his wife were having a discussion when he observed a bright light on the outside.
The only thing left he says, are the clothes on his back. Mr. Burke told our news team that the Fire Brigade took little over an hour to respond to the call. Burke says despite the loss, he and his family are grateful to be alive.
