Clarendon Man Commits Suicide; Confessed to Killing Pregnant Woman: A man who is believed to have killed his girlfriend in Rhoden Hall District, Clarendon is suspected to have committed suicide in his cell in the parish on Monday, June 21.
Dead is 20-year-old Markland Hayles, a farmer of Mason River District, Clarendon. Reports from the Lionel Town Police are that about mid-morning Monday, Hayles was found hanging with a piece of clothing tied around his neck. He was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
