Clarendon on Friday recorded the first two murders in the parish since the start of the year. Dead is 25 year-old Nicholas Williams otherwise called ‘Marvin’ of Comfort district Clarendon who was shot and killed along Comfort main road. Reports are that Nicholas was traveling along the road on a bicycle in the direction of Swansea main road when men traveling in a silver Toyota Mark X motor car shot him several times before making their escape in the direction of Comfort district. Ten spent casings were recovered from the scene. The Four Path police station is investigating the murder.

Meanwhile in the Rhymesbury district also in the parish, labourer, 23 year-old Nicardo Reid otherwise called ‘Bugo’ was murdered Friday afternoon. It is understood that Reid and another man were in a pasture tending to a herd of cows when they were attacked by three men on foot armed with handguns who chased them and opened gunfire, hitting Reid. The other man managed to escape without any injuries.

The police recovered four 9mm spent casings from the scene as well as blood samples. Reid was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead. People’s National Party (PNP) Councilor for the York Town Division Uphell Purcell spoke to the trauma felt by the communities affected.
