Demanding basic amenities, obviously frustrated, residents of Top Alston in Clarendon took to the streets Monday morning to protest the realities of their living conditions. The residents are calling on their Member of Parliament to repair the roads which they say are in deplorable conditions. A tree which resembles the aftermath of a hurricane was used along with other debris to block the road.
The residents lament the road is not the only problem, as water has become scarce. They expressed to Cvm Live that in addition to poor road conditions and a shortage of water supply, insufficient street lights is another factor which poses a threat to their safety. Efforts to contact Northwest Clarendon Member of Parliament, Phillip Henriques, proved futile, as calls to his phone went unanswered.
