Clarendon Residents Say ‘Tropical Storm Elsa Was A Disaster’

During the movement of Tropical Storm Elsa, the Hayes Main Road in Clarendon was, fully submerged in floodwaters and had motorists braving the waters to reach their destination.

In Racecourse, residents in the Long Wood community used a different mode of transportation to move about. Meanwhile, the Jamaica Fire Brigade had to be called in to assist residents of the Monymusk Housing Scheme, on Seashore Drive.

When our news team spoke to the residents on Monday, July 5, they said the floodwaters contained many things that may harm their health, including sewage.
