The Parliament will have to wait another week to know the fate of Opposition Member Dr Angela Brown Burke following a disruptive point of order during the closing of the National Budget Debate.
The Opposition members walked out after the Finance Minister referred to their Leader Mark Golding as ‘Massa Mark” while refuting Golding’s recent comments about supporters of the JLP and aspects of the latest budget. The minister’s comments incensed Opposition Member and Party Chairman, Dr Angela Brown Burke who rose to seek a retraction that swiftly descended into a heated clash between the two political majorities. After the House Speaker intervened demanding that Dr Brown Burke withdraws her alleged “unparliamentary language”…Dr Brown Burke and her colleagues accused the House Speaker of being biased.
The Speaker has announced that once she receives the minutes from Hansard she will rule on the matter in the next Parliamentary sitting. Watch the report:
