Commissioner Lauds Police, Public for Clarendon Murder Breakthrough

Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson is crediting Rushane Barnett’s swift apprehension to good police work and public support. Barnett was charged with five counts of murder for the gruesome killing of a mother and her four children in Cocoa Piece, Clarendon on June 21. 

Police reports have confirmed the killing was linked to a domestic issue, which General Anderson says falls into a category of crime the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has been highlighting for some time. 

This gruesome murder was followed by another suspected inter-personal killing in the parish, of a woman allegedly by her spouse. The Commissioner says the Clarendon police are working closely with residents to make them more comfortable reporting community conflicts. Watch the report below:
