Concerns Rise After Roaming Bull Incident in Draxhall, Saint Ann

In a recent incident in the Draxhall community of Saint Ann, a wandering cow reportedly trampled its owner to death, raising concerns about the risks associated with roaming livestock. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, prompting the intervention of the police, who sought assistance from the Jamaica Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA). Mrs. Pamela Lawson, Managing Director of the JSPCA, emphasized the agency’s role in addressing such incidents. She urged animal owners to exercise consideration, highlighting the potential for property damage or, in severe cases, loss of life.

The bull involved in the Draxhall incident had reportedly entered a neighboring residential area before being euthanized. Mrs. Lawson justified the decision to put down the animal, emphasizing the need to prevent further risks to both properties and human safety. As concerns grow regarding the presence of large animals on private properties and major thoroughfares, the incident underscores the importance of responsible animal ownership to ensure the safety of both animals and the community.
