Just days after the Tourism Development Company Ltd (TPDCO) issued an advisory that the operation is ongoing and is being monitored, at White River, rafters are refuting this statement. The Rafter’s Representative who spoke with CVM LIVE confirmed that there is a need for regulations that ongoing meetings are addressing. Dismissing claims posited in a press release on Tuesday by TPDCO, some rafters at the White River on Thursday told CVM LIVE there is no such thing as rafters being monitored since the clean-up operation. A meeting was held on Wednesday where some rafters reportedly walked out.
They are alleging patrons who normally flock to the famous spot are now being channeled to calypso rafting which is not a viable option as they cannot facilitate the directed tourism traffic. However, the Rafters Representative Curtis Douglas says patience and order should be exercised as there are ongoing discussions with the company to ensure smooth sailing. Watch the report:
