Attorney at Law Hylton Powell questions the statement issued by the Attorney General’s Chambers on April 19 regarding Paula Llewelyn’s status as Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, and her right to exercise powers of that office. While referencing previous cases where judges had to retire before giving judgment, Powell expresses concern that section 96(2) of the Constitution, which states that nothing done by the Director shall be invalid solely because she has reached retirement age, may not save her actions, which they believe may cause constitutional concerns.
