The murder of a police constable in Johnson Pen, St. Catherine on Wednesday has amplified calls for more resources to be given to force to fight crime. 31-year-old Constable Jermaine Brown, who was assigned to the Spanish Town police station was murdered in Johnson Pen, St. Catherine on Tuesday. Brown reportedly went to the community in his private motor car at about 4:50 p.m, when gunmen attacked and shot him several times; killing him on the spot.

Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation Corporal Rohan James says the killing of his colleague goes to show that criminals are having their own way.
