In anticipation of Monkeypox cases, the medical team at the Cornwall Regional Hospital could see a dialing back in elective surgeries amid resource constraints. The Senior Medical Officer Dr. Derek Harvey is however assuring the public that they will deliver service as best as possible.
Meantime, Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus on Tuesday reported more than 9000 cases of Monkeypox across 63 countries. He says the emergency committee for the virus will reconvene next week to examine trends, and the effectiveness of counter-measures and make recommendations. More details in the report below:
