Cosmetic Surgery Master Classes to Be Launched in Jamaica

The future for cosmetic surgery in Jamaica is seemingly bright, as medical practitioners from across the region are partnering to make Jamaica a prime destination for cosmetic surgeries. The surgeons involved are confident this will be a breakthrough in medical tourism for Jamaica and the Caribbean.

“Jamaica will be the go-to spot for cosmetic surgery in the Caribbean”. Those are the words of renowned Facial Rejuvenation Surgeon Dr. Sandra Swaby, as she is confident her facial and body cosmetics masterclasses will redefine how cosmetic surgery is done in the region. The masterclass will be held on June 10 and 11, at the Secrets Resort in St. James. The classes are geared towards increasing the knowledge and competencies of certified physicians in Jamaica.

Dr. Swaby, who is the Executive Director of the initiative tells CVM LIVE, that having more trained surgeons in the area will limit the need for Jamaicans to go abroad for surgeries. Another surgeon Dr. Gregory Crichlow says the initiative will create opportunities for medical tourism across the region, especially because the Caribbean is already a prime vacation destination.

Meanwhile, Cosmetic Gynecologist Dr. Daryl Daley is confident this initiative will eventually eliminate the need for surgeons to be trained abroad. More details in this report:
