Covid-19: An Uptick in Cases Across Jamaica

According to Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton, there has been an uptick in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.

Speaking at the weekly COVID-19 press briefing Thursday, July 23, the Minister says the latest statistics show a 13.8 percent increase.

Dr. Tufton notes that this turn the nation is taking is not good. The Minister also refutes claims that the Delta variant is on the island. However, he says given full access to the borders, the presence of the variant is a possibility.
