CRH Loses Senior Nurse To COVID-19

CRH Loses Senior Nurse – It was a very sad weekend for staff at the Cornwall Regional Hospital (CRH) in St. James, as a senior nurse who was critically ill, lost her battle against COVID-19. She is the second nurse in the Western Region to die from the virus in almost two weeks.

Senior Medical Officer at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, Dr. Derek Harvey says nurses at the facility are receiving immense support from other members of staff following the death of one of their own, Saturday night.  Harvey says the senior nurse was a very integral part of the service provided at the hospital.

Dr. Harvey notes that the hospital has lost two employees to COVID-19 in the last week. He says despite preparing for the worst amid the pandemic, one cannot avoid being affected by the death of a loved one, adding that it’s no different for health care workers.
