CVM LIVE Security Expert Dr Jason McKay is rubbishing suggestions that the recent attack on armed guards loading cash into an ATM in Portmore Pines suggests a breakdown. He also warns similar attacks could become a trend in the short term unless swift action is taken by the banks regarding how ATMS are restocked.
Contrary to suggestions that had the security guards who were attacked Monday by criminals in Portmore been properly resourced the attack could have been foiled Local Criminologist Dr Jason McKay explains. The CEO of local security firm, McKay Security notes the incident was unfortunate and heightens the risks that guards face in their duties.
He however highlights the need for banks to revisit how ABMs are filled citing alternatives.
