The lingering issues of rat infestation in the Halfway Tree and surrounding commercial hubs prompted further criticism of the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA, that they are not doing enough to reduce the looming health crisis. Speaking to CVM LIVE’s Natalia Clarke however, the Executive Director says the blame should be laid at the feet of those who consistently litter. Vendors in Halfway Tree have long admitted to being partially responsible for their prevailing predicament – a rapidly growing rat population in the area. They however cast some blame on the NSWMA, citing the agency’s lackluster efforts in assuaging the years-old problem. Executive Director at the NSWMA, Audley Gordon is however staunchly countering that claim, adamant the Agency is doing all it’s mandated to.
