The police have listed 90 of the most nefarious gangsters from their list of most wanted men. They’re wanted for some of the deadliest crimes from as early as 2012. But who are they, how can you help?
The Jamaica Constabulary Force has released the identities of ninety wanted men, regarded as the deadliest fraction of 200 of Jamaica’s main contributors to the crime rate.
From CVM Live’s analysis, over half of the ninety men are wanted for murder, thirty-one for shooting and wounding and 9 for rape. The bulk of the crimes were committed in St. Andrew, accounting for sixteen wanted men and twelve murders, followed by Hanover with thirteen wanted men and 7 rape charges.
However, it’s important to note while the offences occurred in the parish; it doesn’t mean the men are living in that space. Speaking at a media briefing Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey says some of these men have been wanted for over 5 years and some for more than one offence. He’s again urging the men to turn themselves in. DCP Bailey says anyone found with an illegal gun should be given life imprisonment.
He was also stern in reminding persons not to harbour criminals. Meanwhile, bailey says the police have apprehended two persons of interest in relation to the recent seizure of firearms in Mountain View Avenue, St. Andrew.
