Damion Crawford Denies Resignation Rumors

Rumors has it, that Vice President of the People’s National Party and Caretaker for East Portland Damion Crawford, resigned from the party, because of the reappointment of Dr. Dayton Campbell to the shadow cabinet.

Speaking on CVM LIVE recently, Crawford denied these claims.

Battle lines were drawn and sides were taken as two men pursued the top job of party’s President back in September 2019.

Emerging leader, Dr. Peter Phillips, vowed that the party will be unified.

To some, this week’s reappointing staunch Peter Bunting supporter, Dr. Dayton Campbell is a gamble, as he had urged members of the PNP not to “sacrifice its future for one man’s ambition,” making reference to Dr. Phillips.

Strident supporter of Phillips, Damion Crawford is refuting claims that he has resigned because of this reappointment.

Crawford adds that as Vice President, he wished he was informed about the move, he however says the party is upbeat and ready for the election.

Campbell who was Opposition Spokesman on Health now takes up the position of Shadow Minister for Special Projects.

Brushing aside criticism of hypocrisy, he tweeted a bible scripture:

Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, i count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing i do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”

It is uncertain if Crawford will remain as the party’s candidate for East Portland in the next general election.

The PNP will be holding a leadership retreat with all of its candidates over the weekend.
