Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Fitz Bailey has given every assurance that justice will be served for the string of attacks, some fatal, launched against Beryllium guards in recent months. Meanwhile, he announced the composition of a dedicated high level Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, team focused on effecting justice in the matter.
DCP Bailey also commended the heroic efforts of the team of guards who were attacked in St Thomas on Saturday. Beryllium vehicles and guards have since this year come under so many attacks, Jamaicans now view them as harbingers of death, as it seems they are always one transaction away from a potentially fatal attack. DCP Fitz Bailey says the police have gone a step further since the latest incident to allay fears and restore stability in respect of the threat. The constabulary is also committing to bring the perpetrators to justice. This utterance despite some suspects in the first incident in Portmore at the Portmore Pines Plaza reportedly walking as there was little support in identifying the suspects. Watch the report:
