Responding to the threat level and exhausted fleet experienced at the Department of Correctional Services (DCS), eleven brand new motor vehicles were handed over on Thursday at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre.
During the handing over ceremony, Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security Zavia Mayne along with members of the DCS cut the ribbon to reveal four RAV4s, two pickup vans, one truck, one-panel van, and three Hiace Mini Vans
Mayne notes that mobility is critical for the department in order to provide a swift and secure response to any eventuality. The Superintendent in charge of the DCS Transport Centre, Philbert Officer, highlighted the collection of challenges that members were being faced with. Watch the report:
