A domestic dispute turned deadly for 41-year-old farmer Garcia Williams; the Trelawny police are now in pursuit of a man, who is believed to have used a machete to inflict wounds on his spouse in Mendez Town, Trelawny. Williams succumbed to her injuries- she was found dead in her yam field in Green Town, around 9:15 am on Monday; found lying face down with a single chop wound to her neck
The now deceased was involved in a common-law relationship with a man subsequently named by the police as Omar Bennett otherwise called “Big Shot”. Reports are that prior to this both Williams and Bennett had several instances of domestic disputes.
CVM LIVE understands that Bennett approached Williams in her field and an argument developed. The now deceased was chased by Bennett who used a machete to chop his one-time spouse in her neck.
Bennett made good his escape on foot in the area. Our news team spoke with a resident who says he helped found Williams’ lifeless body and Councillor for the Lorrimers Division in South Trelawny, Desmond Smith condemns the tragic incident.
