As the country experiences its lowest unemployment rate in recent history, commentators are applauding the infrastructure boom across the country. President of the Jamaica Employer’s Federation, David Wan says as the country aims to repair the damage done by the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of several infrastructure across the island will lead to even further growth.
He says the other factor that indicates the possibility of further growth in subsequent quarters, is the unemployment rate. Wan adds that the country’s unemployment rate, and the development of infrastructure work in tandem. However, He says the country would experience even further growth, if persons outside of the labor force, would be persuaded to seek employment.
