One member of the Jamaican Diaspora in North America, Dr. Karren Dunkley is in full support of Illinois’ No Cash Bail Act which was to take effect on January 1. Dunkley says she believes the act will have an impact on the diaspora while encouraging the fear-mongering about the act ending. She says the cash bail system promotes democracy and welfare.
