While there is general acceptance of the government finally installing a constitutional committee, there however remains discontent among sections of the society, with its make-up, particularly the inclusion of Professor Richard Albert.
One member of the clergy is expressing his displeasure, given Professor Albert’s position on several controversial issues. Though no longer considered the most homophobic place on earth, as labelled by Time Magazine in 2006, Jamaica is still very far from being the most accepting.

Bishop Dr. Alvin Bailey is raising a red flag at the appointment of pro-abortion and pro-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans Gender and Queer, LGBTQ2+ advocate, Professor Richard Albert, to Jamaica’s Constitutional Reform Committee. Bishop Bailey is adamant Jamaica does not need his help.
