Crime continues to plague Clarendon, as ten people were shot and killed in several different incidents in the parish, in just twelve hours. Among the killings was a double murder in York Town. The Councillor for the York Town Division, Upheld Purcell, is pleading with the government to intervene immediately.
Three men were shot, two fatally in York Town, Clarendon Tuesday night, raising the number of killings in the parish by ten over just a twelve-hour period. One of the deceased has been identified as fifty-four-year-old Sylvester Richardson, while the other victims are yet to be identified. Police reports are that at about 10 pm, Richardson and the other men were at a shop, when a gunman, posing as a customer entered and opened fire, hitting all three men.
They were each taken to the hospital. Councillor Purcell says the parish’s crime problem has grown more alarming. He says the government should have already announced a plan for curtailing crime in the parish, as residents are growing more fearful. Watch the report:
