DR.CHANG: CURRENT PRACTICES OF SOCIAL INTERVENTION NOT WORKING

A few days ago, while speaking at a Violence Prevention and Peace Building Symposium in Montego Bay, the Minister of National Security, Dr.Horace Chang, boldly stated that civil society such as the Churches, The Peace Management Initiative (PMI ) and The Citizen Security and Justice Programme ( CSJP ) have done a number of good things, but have failed to effect transformation in Montego Bay with social intervention programmes.

On Wednesday’s CVM LIVE panel discussion Dr. Chang remained firm in his stance that the current practices of social intervention are not working and the State of Public Emergency (SOE) is the first step in saving lives.
