Dr Chang: Zero Guns Surrendered Since Latest Amnesty

With the gun amnesty in effect since November 5, National Security Minister Dr Horace Chang says no illegal weapon has been submitted. Speaking with CVM LIVE Monday he urged persons with illegal weapons to hand them over.

Despite zero submissions to date, he is yet hopeful this approach will reduce gun crimes. He says in addition to the new firearm act, the government is thinking of other means to curb crime in the country. The gun amnesty is set to last for two weeks.

It took effect on November 5 and is slated to end at midnight on Saturday, November 19. Watch the full report:
