Residents of Lyssons in St. Thomas are demanding the road in the area be fixed urgently in light of growing health concerns. The construction of the road began years ago, to improve its structure. However, the project has not been completed and has compromised the well-being of the residents. Residents have been brought to battle daily with dust since construction began to create an improved road network in the area years ago. They say the problem has worsened, after the contractors removed the asphalt from the road, which unveiled an endless supply of dust that now lingers around and inside their dwellings.
Worst yet, the endless supply of dust has started affecting the residents’ health. As they lament their plight, the residents demand immediate action. An elderly woman in the community explains the unsafe and medically compromising position she has been forced to endure. Efforts to contact the construction company, responsible for the road’s completion were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile the residents are hopeful that their suffrage will come to an end soon, and that a reasonable solution will be established.
