The Education Ministry is denouncing the use of indemnity letters by some schools.
On Tuesday, the Education Minister, Fayval Williams sought to provide an update in Parliament on schools added to the 129 already approved institutions for face to face learning.
The Minister says, of the total 216 schools approved for face to face learning, eight schools in four regions have been affected by coronavirus cases.
Meanwhile, the Opposition’s Spokesperson on Education and Training, Dr. Angela Brown Burke says she is surprised at reports that some schools are asking parents to sign waivers of indemnity regarding COVID-19.
Dr. Brown Burke is renewing calls for greater consultations, so informed decisions can be made about students’ health and safety.
