More resources allocated for online learning: Ahead of the October 5 virtual reopening of school, the Education Minister, Fayval Willams announced that more resources will be provided to equip students for the online classroom.
The Minister also explains how the requirements of student with special needs will be facilitated.
The new school year is set to begin in a matter of days and the Ministry of Education and Information says it is ready to facilitate the delayed school year under strict COVID-19 protocols.
Minister Williams says the Google Learning Management System will be used for online teaching and learning. So far two hundred thousand students have already logged on to the system.
Williams says in addition to digital material including e-books, the Ministry will also be providing, some grades with workbooks. There are also plans to implement psychosocial programs to parents and students as learning goes online.
For students with special needs, the Ministry says it is actively working to provide them with the special access they will need to learn from home.
When virtual learning gets underway on Monday, the Ministry has expressed confidence that students will be able to receive quality learning through online platforms.
