Education Stakeholders Concerned Amid COVID-19 Spike

With an uptick in Coronavirus cases recently, officials in the education sector have raised concerns regarding face to face learning.

President of the Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) Jasford Gabriel is recommending that schools halt face to learning. He highlights the risks of exposure for  children taking public transportation.

President of the Jamaica principals association, Linvern Wright says justification should be given by the health ministry for face to face learning to continue in light of the COVID-19 spike.

Meanwhile, the President of the National Parent-Teacher Association of Jamaica, Mitzie Harris-Dillon is supporting the closure of schools. She says health and wellness are a priority alluding to the continued noncompliance of the protocols in society.
